Hello! I am Arpita Iddya, a postdoctoral associate at Yale University in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, working under the guidance of Professor Menachem Elimelech. Before joining Yale, I earned my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a minor in Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, working with Professor David Jassby. At UCLA, my research, situated at the intersection of the food-water-energy nexus, primarily focused on advancing membrane technology for environmental engineering applications. My doctoral thesis explored the intricate membrane properties and their impacts on interfacial phenomena at the membrane-water interface.

Now at Yale, my research has expanded to include numerical modelling as well as exploration of innovative materials, aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of water treatment processes and optimizing resource recovery strategies. Looking ahead, I am passionate about harnessing electrochemical and membrane-based technologies to foster a sustainable circular economy.
